Courses for lay people enable participations to understand basic computer concepts to identify problems amenable to computer solution and learn how to use tools necessary for solving such problems. The computer courses offered include: DOS and Windows, programming languages, introduction to computers, computer graphics, internet and E-mail. The advanced courses for professionals in computer are designed for those who require a fairly sophisticated knowledge and skills. These course help learners study and analyze different computer systems and computer networks to determine how to solve software and hardware problems, and how to use different computer languages and data bases and software packages to design different software applications
4. Languages Program The languages program offers courses in 6 languages courses aim at enhancing such language skills as reading, writing, listening and speaking at all levels of proficiency. Language classes are normally given at the elementary, intermediate and advanced levels. New participations are given an English proficiency test to determent the appropriate level of instruction. Participants in such courses benefit from material based on the communicative approach to language teaching. This material also includes well-selected textbooks and video tapes. Evaluation in such course is generally based on certain achievement test developed for this purpose.
TOEFL Test: The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) measures the ability of nonnative speakers of English to use and understand English as it is spoken, written, and heard in college and university settings. The TOEFL test is offered in different formats depending on a test taker's location. In Palestine, TOEFL is offered on the Internet-based TOEFL Test (TOEFL iBT).
