To serve the local community and to fulfill its needs, PPU has established the continuing education department (CED) in 1989. CED plays a vital role in providing capacity building services benefiting from the PPU resources. CED provides a wide range of training programs to various beneficiary audiences. Most of the CED training programs are designed to fulfill the needs of the local community. The CED is capable of carrying out more than (90) training program covering various fields of knowledge, administrative, languages, engineering, vocational, computer, women issues, in addition to public activities. The CED has a full access to all UGU facilities, technicians, centers and faculties, PPU well equipped classrooms, more than 36 labs and workshops and 150 faculty members of various degrees and skills. In addition to this, part of the CED trainers is from other local institutions. The curricula and objectives of most of the CED training programs are in place to carry out any future training. Furthermore, the department is capable of designing, developing, and delivering most of these and any other programs whenever required within a short period of time. CED develops the training materials and chooses the instructor, based on the needs and the ability of the participants and the needs of the community. In addition, CED activities are offered at Palestine polytechnic university training facilities and premises. CED Concepts The Mission In accordance with the mission of the Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU) and responding to the tremendous changes in the Palestinian community, the Continuing Education Department (CED) at PPU is introducing various flexible opportunities in vocational education, training and in social services that target a wide range of audiences that include, but not limited to, local organizations and NGOs, ministries and governmental bodies, private sector, in addition to individuals who are willing to develop their skills and abilities.
