Student Activities:

This section sponsors and promotes a wide range of social and cultural activities, including festivals, exhibitions, seminars, meetings, and so on. These activities aim at strengthening the social ties between students, creating positive personalities, and enhancing cooperation among them.

Public Services:

Students on campus are provided with a number of public services. These include health services, cafeterias, sports, post and other public services.

Sports Activities:

This section gives students training and practice in various kinds of sports. It also promotes leadership skills and qualities among students. This is achieved by enhancing students’ talents through organized sports meetings and programs which are carried out inside and outside the university campus.

Through this section, our university is an active member in the Sports Union for the Palestinian educational institutions. It also represents the Palestinian Unions in the United Arab University Sport Champions in Iraq, Jordan, and Egypt. This includes champions in football, ping bong,  fitness, and others.

Financial Aid:

The university established what is called “Students’ Fund” in order to provide needy students with financial assistance.  This assistance is carried out based on a survey which examines the social and financial status of the applicants :

  • Loans: Based on a social survey, students are provided with no interest loans, which will be paid back after the student's graduation and employment. These loans are provided by PPU as well as the Ministry of Higher Education.
  • Grants: Depending on the availability of funds, some students are provided with grants, the sum of which depends on their social status.
  • Scholarships: The university provides scholarships to distinguished students with  high achievements, and others who have been severely affected by the Intifada.

It should be noted that the funds made available in the Students Funds come from Zakah and other donations.

Graduates Follow-up:

PPU maintains a close connection between the university and its graduates through the Graduates Follow-up Section.

This section keeps files on all graduates and documents the ratio of those who are already employed or at least run their own businesses. It should be pointed out here that recent figures show that 90% of the university graduates are employed, inside and outside the country.

This section organizes lectures and meetings,  using pamphlets, publications and other materials, to guide and orient students on the academic and administrative aspects of the university system and regulations. These activities aim at promoting students’ self –confidence and increasing their awareness about the the university and its various colleges, departments and services.
