Introduction

   The Planning and Development Department (PDD) was established in 1987 to formulate, implement and communicate the PPU's planning and development needs.

 

    Its mission in to identify key development issues and projects that have direct impact on the university and the local community. This is achieved in collaboration with the administration of the university, government and non-government agencies and institutions, community leaders, and donor countries.

 

Tasks and Activities

    PDD carries out the following specific tasks and activities:

  • Identifying short and long-term development plans and projects geared towards staff training and enhancing the PPU's various laboratories, workshops and services.

  • Introducing new programs demanded by the local community.

  • Formulating project proposals which adhere to donor standards and requirements.

  • Formulating cooperation agreements with counter universities, colleges, organizations and donor countries.

  • Supervising the implementation of approved projects in cooperation with the sponsoring partners.

  • Submitting technical and progress reports to the PPU administration and sponsoring partners.

  • Preparing the necessary tender documents for the approved projects, including bid analysis.

  • Following up project formulation and implementation with the sponsoring partners.

  • Seeking for donations and funds from local and international agencies and institutions to sponsor our projects and plans.

    This is achieved in cooperation with the Department of Public Relations.
