Take urgent action Policies and interventions

PPU is involved with hands-on experiences by providing services and solutions through scientific research in the various fields of climate change topics including the following main focuses:

CO2 Emissions: Our university's CO2 emissions for the calendar year 2023 align with the GHG Protocol, totaling 597 tonnes. To address these emissions and promote sustainability, the university has devised a comprehensive plan to save energy and reduce CO2 emissions.
By the year 2028, the university aims to achieve an impressive 40% reduction in CO2 emissions. To accomplish this target, several interventions will be implemented.

  • A 150 kWp solar station will be installed on the rooftop of Abu Roman buildings, harnessing renewable energy to power the campus.
  • An additional PV station will be set up within the campus area, covering an impressive 300 square meters
  • Energy-consuming components in buildings will be replaced with new, energy-efficient parts. This includes installing smart lighting systems … etc.
  •

The university has set a long-term vision of reaching net-zero emissions by the year 2042. This ambitious goal demonstrates the university's strong commitment to environmental sustainability and combating climate change.
