Hebron Excellence Team at Palestine Polytechnic University holding a workshop on Writing News Reports

The HE team at Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU) held a workshop on preparing news reports and writing news.  Mr. Fadi Al-Suwaiti, the Coordinator of Career Services Center at PPU, opened the meeting by stressing the importance of this training to all the students and graduates from all academic programs, and then he welcomed  the media trainer: Radi Karameh, who works at Al-Oroubah Network.

            At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Karamah talked about his own experience in this field which helped him to reach the media, moving from radio to another, thus acquiring the skills and the experience needed in the field of Media. He also explained the meaning of the news in general and news reporting in particular and the conditions to be met in the press and the importance of being professional away from any kind of affiliation to any group. He also gave some examples from the journalists’ experiences, stressing that the journalists should be honest and professional and need not to adopt the news without checking its credibility from authoritative sources. In the end, they opened the meeting for discussion, and they thanked Radi Karameh for holding this training workshop.

It is noteworthy that the HE is a national program based on a true partnership among the various Palestinian sectors. It aims at empowering and developing the Palestinian youth, and increasing their motivation  as well as enhancing their competitive opportunities in the labor market through an integrated program designed specifically for students of Palestinian universities.

This program is actually part of an initiative adopted by the company "PADICO", Sharek Youth Forum,  the International Youth Foundation, and Silatak Organization in partnership with a number of Palestinian universities.
