During an official visit to Seoul, Korea, Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU) in Palestine and the Southern Korean Konkuk University signed a memorandum of understanding with the objective of opening channels of global cooperation between the two universities.
The signing of the MoU was represented by Professor Imad Al-Khatib, President of Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU), and Engineer Ayman Sultan, Vice-President of Planning and Development and Public Relations from Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU), and Dr. Sang-Ji Min, Rector of the Korean Konkuk University and Dr. Park, the Vice-President of International Relations Affairs from Konkuk University.
This memorandum aims at having mutual academic and research cooperation to develop joint research projects in several fields, notably biotechnology, solar power, and medical science. They also agreed to have a scientific cooperation to transfer technology to the private sector and protect the individual intellectual rights. Since Konkuk university has a long experience in this field, it lends a hand to Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU) in this regard.
At the end of this scientific visit, both the working staff from the Biotechnology Center and a group of researchers from Konkuk University held a workshop in the field of biotechnology. It is noteworthy that this staff participated in an intensive training course in the latest technologies in this field before holding this workshop.
