Palestine Polytechnic University receives a delegation from the World Bank to discuss the latest developments

On January 18, 2017, the President of  the PPU, Dr. Imad al-Khatib,  received a delegation from the World bank, consisted of  Safa’  Alkokkali, the Director of the Education Sector in the Middle East and South Africa at the WB, Juan Manuel Moreno, the Education Specialist at WB, Sameera Hillis, the Coordinator of the WB projects, Ms. Suha Khalili, the Unit Manager of the WB Project in the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, in the presence of engineer Ayman Sultan, the Vice-President of Planning and Development and International Relations,  Dr. Mohammad Ghazi al-Qawasmi, the Vice-President of the Community Service, in addition to  Dr. Samir Khader and  Dr. Fawzi al-Razem, the directors of the WB projects  and the university students.

The aim of this visit is to look at the latest development in the World Bank’s projects and the extent to which students have benefited from their engagement in the labor market and how these projects help the students and the staff alike in building their skills and enhancing the targeted disciplines.

The University President, al-Khatib, empathized the importance of the partnership and the existing cooperation between the WB and the PPU and he highly valued  the WB’s efforts towards the advancement of the education sector and creating jobs for the young people in Palestine as well as developing their abilities and skills which will help them be easily engaged in the labor market after graduation.

For her part, Alkocali, stressed the importance of this visit and emphasized the World Bank’s full support of educational projects that help to enhance the youth opportunities in serving the community and to develop the capabilities and the level of quality of the academic and research programs.
