Palestine Polytechnic University Receives Delegation from Notre Dame University, Indiana- USA

Palestine Polytechnic University received a delegation, consisting of Dr.  Laith Sbihat, Coordinator of the Palestinian Research Incubator Project, Dr. Melissa Paulsen, Tom Marientit, Sharif Najm and Eduard Gorkovic, from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, USA.  They were received by the President of the University  Dr. Imad Khatib , the Vice President for  Academic Affairs Dr. Mustafa Abu Safa, Dean of the College of Information Technology and Computer Engineering Dr. Zaineddin Salah, and the Director of the University President's Office engineer Yousef Salah.

The President of the University, Prof. al- Khatib welcomed the delegation and then gave a brief information on the University academic  programs at all levels as well as the university's relations at the local, international and regional levels. He also reviewed the University's service centers and some research and developmental projects that are currently implemented by the university.

The visiting delegation gave a presentation on the Notre Dame Initiative for Global Development, which is currently implementing the project to establish a Palestinian research incubator.

In a related context, a meeting was held at the College of Information Technology and Computer Engineering. It was attended by  Dr. Murad Abu Sbeih, the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, in addition to the academic and administrative staff of the College. During this meeting, there was discussion on issues related to the academic interests and research directions of the College staff , the prospects of research cooperation and exchange of experiences in many areas of common interest.

It is noteworthy that the visiting delegation  will hold a workshop this week in the city of Ramallah, which includes intensive training sessions in  Internet objects, cloud computing and data science. The workshop will be attended by academics from Palestine Polytechnic University as well as representatives from other Palestinian universities.
