Palestine Polytechnic University explores the joint cooperation prospects with a delegation from the Palestinian and European traffic police to develop and train members of the Palestinian traffic police

On February 6, 2017, the PPU represented by Dr. Imad al-Khatib, the President of PPU, engineer Ayman Sultan al-Tamimi, the PU Vice-President of Planning and Development and International Relations, Dr. Radwan Tahboub, the Dean of the College of Information Technology and Computer Engineering, engineer Ashraf Zughayer, the Director of  the Department of Continuing Education, engineer Musab Shaheen, the training Coordinator, and Dr. Ghadi Zakarneh, the Surveying Engineering Unit, discussed the joint cooperation prospects with a delegation from the Palestinian and European traffic police to train and develop members of the Palestinian traffic police. The delegation consisted of Dr. Khaled Abu Zahra,Training Department of the Palestinian Police, Lieutenant Colonel Awwad Al-Osta, the Director of the Department of Traffic Police, Captain Amjad Shadfan, the Director of Accidents in the Police Department, and two coordinators from the European traffic police. 

The visit aimed to expand the joint cooperation in the field of training between the PPU and the Palestinian and European traffic police.

In their talks, al-Khatib, stressed the importance of strengthening the existing cooperation among all parties and discussing the training of members of  the Palestinian traffic police in many technical areas with the support of the  Representative of Spain. As well, Sulan al-Tamimi, emphasized the importance of strategic and cooperative relationship among the PPU, the local community and the local, regional and international institutions, and he gave a brief information on the major colleges, facilities, departments, centers and units which serve the university. Sultan also stressed the importance of finding and developing ways of cooperation in the training of the members of the  Palestinian police on vehicle testing, electronic crimes and many other relevant fields.

At the end of the visit, the delegation were escorted on a tour to the various university laboratories, and all the parties have come to an agreement to train members of the Palestinian traffic police at the beginning of next April.
