Palestine Polytechnic University and the Palestinian Economic Council for Development and Reconstruction (PECDAR) Sign a Joint Cooperation Agreement to Establish A Building for Students’ Services

 
 
On March 4, 2018,  the Minister of PECDAR  Dr. Mohammad Ishtayeh and the PPU’s President Dr. Imad Khatib signed a joint cooperation agreement to establish a building for students’ services in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture/the Deputy Chairman of the University Graduates Union Dr. Sufian Sultan, the Governor of Hebron District Mr. Kamel Hmeid,  in addition to the Palestinian businessman Mr. Rafiq Izzat Abu Munshar, the Secretary of Fateh Movement Mr. Imad Khurwat, and the Vice-President of Administrative and Financial Affairs Dr. Amjad Barham.
Dr. Sultan welcomed the guests and stressed the importance of this partnership between Palestine Polytechnic University and all other sectors as part of social responsibility. He then gave an overview about the University  history and its development at the various scientific levels, including programs, laboratories and buildings.
Dr. Ishtayeh also expressed his happiness during  his visit to Hebron  and the PPU. He praised the PPU for its distinguished graduates who proved to posses their scientific and professional ability in the various fields that serve the Palestinian community.  In his speech, he said that  the President Mahmoud Abbas stressed the importance of supporting the developmental projects in Hebron District. Ishtayeh also pointed out that education is the real guarantee for people to stay on their lands and that the local community has an important role in building its national institutions. He added that the project of establishing the students’ services building is a good model to be followed at the national, regional and global level, and this project is only a step towards  many other future projects in Palestine.
In a related context, Dr. al-Khatib stressed the importance of having a student services building at the University which will provide students with  space on campus for  their non-curricular, intellectual and physical activities during their free time and that the university has begun to build this integrated building to provide its students with all the necessary services.
Mr. Khurwat also emphasized the importance of this mutual cooperation as one of a series of the University’s achievements that serve the country in general and Hebron in particular.
