Palestine Polytechnic University Team wins the Fourth place at the Hult Prize International Competition in the Republic of Tunisia

The PPU team ranked fourth at the Hult Prize International Competition held at the regional level during the period from March 15 to- March 17, 2018  in Tunisia.

The event was attended by representatives of  the Tunisian Confederation for Industry, Commerce, and Handicrafts (TCICH), the Chief Executive Boss (CEO) of Injaz Company , the CEO of Vivo Energy Company, the President of the Tunisian-British Chamber of Commerce, in addition to many other corporate personalities.

The competition was held at the TCICH  in the presence of the Head of the International Coordinators Ayman Arnadi, the Regional Coordinator in Tunisia Hamdi Ben Elmi, the Assistant Coordinator of Palestine Polytechnic University, student Baraa Al-Zuhour,  in addition to officials of the activities in the various Tunisian universities and the participating students.

For his part, Al-Arandi stressed the importance of societal change and the importance of participating in competitions that seeks every year to raise a different humanitarian problem and involve students who can bring about change and find creative solutions to this problem.

The competition was held in 15 countries at the regional level. 3,000 students out of the 100.000 who applied for the competition were eligible for the regional competitions. The Republic of Tunisia was chosen to be one of the countries hosting the competition.  250 students from various universities from different countries,  including the students of Palestine Polytechnic University, consisting of student Musa Rjoub, student Yassin Hassanat and student Mustafa Sarahaneh, participated in the competition. The teams competed each other at the University of Tunisia for Business. The Tunisian Confederation for Industry and Trade hosted the ceremony announcement results.

Dr. Iyad al-Hashlamoun, the Chairman of  the Department of Mechanical Engineering, was in charge of the competition supervision and selection of the entrants within the University. A Judges committee was formed within the University and it consisted of  Dr. Maher Mughalseh, Dr. Ramzi Al-Qawasmi and Dr. Hassan Sawalha.

The University administration, represented by  the University Vice President for Community Services Dr. Mohammed Ghazi al-Qawasmi, in cooperation with the Director of the University President Office engineer Yousef Salah, ensured the participation of the team in the Republic of Tunisia through a group of the local community institutions and companies that financed the participation.
