Launching Ceremony of the Arab Innovation Network (AIN) at Palestine Polytechnic University

The launching ceremony of the Arab Innovation Network, the branch of AIN and the fourth student branch in Palestine, was held at Palestine Polytechnic University under the patronage of the PPU's President Prof. Imad Khatib, in the presence of a number of sponsors and supporters, supporting the ceremony and the Arab Innovation Network. Among the attendees were also the representative of Abdallah Alghurair Foundation for Education Ms. Mahar Mesleh, the head of the Palestinian Network for Entrepreneurs and Innovators in the Higher Council for Innovation Mrs. Yafa Abdel Rahim, and the Supervisor of AIN at the PPU and Vice-President of the Academic Affairs at the University Dr. Mustafa Abu Safa, in addition to representatives of Al-Nayzak Organization, the University deans of colleges and its professors, the Student' Council supporting the network, and a number of university students.

Prof. al-Khatib, in his speech, stressed the importance of this network and expressed his happiness for launching the AIN branch at the PPU. As well he encouraged the students to participate in such institutions which would raise their interests and enhance their creativity despite all the surrounding difficult circumstances. He also said:"I am very happy with this initiative. You know that the State of Palestine is going through difficult circumstances, so I consider this initiative a very important one, for it enhances the role of Palestinian youth in their community through innovative initiatives that promote to the development of society and its resilience against difficult situations."

During the ceremony, the student: Muhannad Abu Sharar, who also represented the Students' Council at the University, gave a speech in support of the Arab Innovation Network at the university and expressed the need for having student community at the University. He also invited his colleagues to participate in these activities that contribute to their academic development and their practical experience.

In a telephone call via Skype, engineer Aseel Al-Abed, Head of AIN students communities, expressed her pleasure at launching the Network at the University, and she said: "The Arab Innovation Network has set its goal to encourage the Arab youth and provide them with opportunities by connecting them with organizations, companies and networks which will decrease unemployment and provide young innovators with more suitable work opportunities."

The student Thaer Bader, the head of the Ain branch at Palestine Polytechnic University, also noted that this network is a non-profit organization registered in the UK and he said: " AIN aims at spreading the culture of innovation and creativity in the Arab world through building bridges between the academic education and work, and that the Arab Innovation Network has branches in the Arab world and in Palestine, for example, at Al-Najah National University, Birzeit University and Hebron University. Therefore, it is necessary to strive for the establishment of a student community in Palestine Polytechnic University."

At the end of the ceremony,  Al-Khatib honored the two creative students, Husam Irshaid and Mohammed Abdel Baset, who won the first place in the development of quality tracking systems (IMS) at the Arab world level and the third place in the QMIC competition after talking about their experience and success story for their achievement.

The ceremony ended with the launch of the Arab Innovation Network at the University, inviting students to participate in the activities of the network so that their innovations and creativity can be known to all  in Palestine and the Arab world, wishing them further progress and success in their future activities.
