Salary Advance (Loan) Procedures

Salary advances are a job benefit available to tenured employees under the following conditions:

  • Maximum advance: double the gross salary.
  • A new advance cannot be requested if an existing advance is outstanding.
  • The advance is repaid in a maximum of ten installments.

Steps to request a salary advance electronically:

  1. Log in to the self-service portal at (me.ppu.edu).
  2. Navigate to: Transactions → Requests → Salary Advance Request Form.
  3. Fill in: number of installments (max 10), advance amount (max double gross salary), installment amount.
  4. Wait for the Savings Fund Committee approval via the electronic system.

Employee Children Grant

The university provides a children's education grant to eligible employees under the following conditions:

  • The employee must be tenured and have completed at least five years at the university.
  • Entitled to add 10 marks to the child's Tawjihi score.
  • If admitted without the bonus: 100% tuition waiver.
  • If multiple children enrolled simultaneously: first child 100%, second 75%, third 50%.

Grant application procedures:

  1. Visit the HR department to obtain the employee children grant form.
  2. Complete the form and submit to the HR department for verification.
  3. Proceed to the Admissions and Registration department for form endorsement.
  4. Obtain the university president's signature.
  5. Complete registration procedures at the Finance department.

End of Service Procedures

Reasons for end of service:

  • Death, accepted resignation, loss of position, redundancy, dismissal.
  • Reaching retirement age: 65 for academic staff, 60 for administrative staff.
  • Inability to continue due to health reasons, contract expiry, or either party's wish during probation.

End of service procedures:

  1. The HR department notifies the employee one month before their end-of-service date.
  2. The employee visits the HR department to obtain the clearance form.
  3. The employee signs the clearance form across all service departments.
  4. The HR department calculates entitlements and contacts the Board of Trustees for approval.
  5. The employee signs a final settlement letter acknowledging receipt of all entitlements.

End of Service Gratuity

Regular employees are entitled to an end-of-service gratuity upon leaving for any reason except dismissal, calculated as follows:

  • One month's salary per year for the first nine years.
  • One and a half months' salary for 10–14 years of service.
  • Two months' salary for 15–24 years of service.
  • Two and a half months' salary for 25 years or more.

In case of resignation:

  • One-third of gratuity if resigned within the first five years.
  • Two-thirds if resigned within the following five years.
  • Full gratuity if ten years or more of service.
