Job Description

The HR department prepares job descriptions for all approved positions within the organizational structure. The approved form includes:

  • Job title and direct supervisor's job title.
  • Job summary and main duties.
  • Position requirements and academic qualifications.
  • Technical and personal skills and competencies.
  • Work environment and conditions.

Job descriptions are linked to performance evaluation criteria to reflect the nature of tasks performed by the employee.

New Position Creation Procedures

  1. At the start of the second semester, vice presidents issue official assignments to deans and department heads to prepare their staffing needs lists.
  2. The HR department sends the position creation form electronically to all colleges and departments.
  3. The HR department prepares a detailed report of all requested positions, forwarded to vice presidents for inclusion in the annual budget.
  4. The budget is submitted to the university president for discussion and approval by the Board of Trustees.
  5. The HR department notifies colleges and departments of approved positions for each unit.

Selection & Appointment Procedures

  1. The HR department advertises vacancies in local newspapers and on the university website for at least five days.
  2. All job applications are submitted electronically through the e-recruitment portal.
  3. The HR department screens applications and prepares a shortlist of qualifying candidates.
  4. Interview committees are chaired by the relevant vice president or their delegate.
  5. Interview results are submitted to the university president, then to the Board of Trustees for approval.
  6. Upon approval, electronic and paper files are created for the new employee and appointment documents are collected.

Required Appointment Documents: Personal photo, birth certificate, ID, marriage certificate, passport, academic certificates with ministry equivalence, medical report, criminal record clearance, experience certificates, CV.

Appointment Requirements

  • The applicant must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must hold the qualifications and experience required for the position.
  • Must be medically fit and pass the medical examination.
  • Must not have been convicted of criminal or dishonoring offenses.
  • The employee is on probation for three months, extendable for another three months.
  • Appointment is considered void if the employee does not begin work within 30 days of notification.
