Salary Payment Procedures

  1. The HR department follows up on the new employee's file and salary payment procedures.
  2. The employee visits the HR department to obtain their appointment letter and complete their employment file.
  3. The employee is entitled to a monthly salary after completing all required file documents.
  4. The employee opens a bank account at the university's approved bank.
  5. The HR department's payroll division calculates salaries for all university employees.
  6. Payroll files are forwarded for auditing and approval by the Board of Trustees.
  7. Monthly pay slips are sent to each employee's electronic account.

Salary Components & Deductions

Gross Salary Components

  • Basic salary.
  • Grade allowance.
  • Cost of living allowance.
  • Family, technical, and administrative allowances (where applicable).

Deductions

  • Fixed deductions: savings, retirement, health insurance, taxes.
  • Variable deductions: tuition fees, salary advances, pension year purchases, union membership.

Retirement Subscription Procedures

  1. Upon tenure, the HR department contacts the employee to explain the steps for joining the retirement fund.
  2. The employee is required to submit: social status declaration form, copy of ID, copy of birth certificate.
  3. The HR department coordinates with the Ministry of Health for the employee's medical examination.
  4. After receiving the medical reports, the complete employee file is submitted to the Palestinian Pension Authority.
  5. Monthly transfers are made to the pension authority based on agreed contribution rates (10% employee + 6% university).
